Hosting-Anbieter: united-domains GmbH, Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg, Deutschland.

7. Deine Rechte

Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) sowie Widerspruch (Art. 21 DSGVO). Wende dich dafür an die oben genannte E-Mail-Adresse.

8. Beschwerderecht

3. This website

3.1 Accessing the site & server logs

When you visit this site, the hosting provider automatically stores information your browser transmits in server log files: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the site and ensure its stability and security (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hosting provider: united-domains GmbH, Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg, Germany. A data processing agreement is in place.

The hosting provider keeps the log files only briefly for security reasons and deletes them after 7 days at the latest or pseudonymises them by shortening the IP address. The servers are located in data centres in Germany; to fend off attacks (DDoS), requests may be rerouted via Akamai Technologies GmbH, Garching. I do not analyse the log files myself or combine them with other data.

3.2 Cookies & tracking

This site uses no cookies and embeds no tracking or analytics services. Your language and theme choice is stored only locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not sent to any server.

3.3 Fonts & images

Fonts, icons and images are served exclusively from this site's own web space. No content is loaded from external providers (such as Google Fonts).

3.4 Contact

If you write to me by email or via the contact form, I process your details solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR). The form does not send data to a server; it opens your email app with pre-filled text. The same applies to the support function inside the apps.

My mailbox is provided by Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland. Switzerland is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). If you write to me, your message is stored there. I keep emails only until the problem is solved or I have answered your request; after that I delete them.

4. Apps – principles

5. KennzeichenInfo

6. MainframeMonitor and MainframeMac

The two Mainframe apps are system and network monitors. Some features can only measure the network by using it. The connections below only occur when you use the respective feature. None of this data is sent to me, and no server of mine is involved. Legal basis: providing the feature you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

6.1 Traceroute

When you start a trace, the app sends test packets (ICMP) with increasing time-to-live to the destination you enter. The destination and every router on the way technically receive your public IP address.

6.2 Route map (geo lookup)

To show the route on a map, the app sends the IP addresses of the discovered hops and, once per trace, your own public IP address (as the starting point) to the external service freeipapi.com, which returns the approximate location (city, country, coordinates) and receives your public IP address. Lookups only happen during a trace. Provider: FreeIPAPI, Altdorfer Str. 6, 40237 Düsseldorf, Germany. The service's own privacy policy applies to its processing: freeipapi.com/privacy.

6.3 Latency & clock

While the latency panel is active, the app sends one ping packet (ICMP) per second to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare's public DNS server) and queries the time server time.apple.com (Apple) every five minutes (SNTP) to measure response time and clock drift. The recipients see your public IP address; no content data is transmitted.

6.4 Sysplex link on the local network

With Sysplex, several Mainframe apps (e.g. on Mac, iPhone and iPad) find each other on the same local network via Bonjour (_mfsysplex._tcp). While the feature is active, the app sends to the coupled devices about once per second: system name, the device name you chose, platform, device model, OS version, CPU, memory and storage usage, battery level and state, network throughput, uptime and thermal state, plus a random identifier of the app installation. This happens only on the local network, never over the internet, and is not encrypted – so only use it on networks you trust. iOS asks for local network permission first; you can revoke it at any time under Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

6.5 App icons in ‘More apps’

Icons of my other apps are loaded via Apple's public App Store interface (itunes.apple.com). Only the app identifier is requested; Apple receives your IP address.

6.6 Data shown locally only

Local IP address, network interface, connection type, DNS servers, cellular technology, motion and compass values and all system values are read on the device and shown only there – including the widget and the Live Activity. They are not stored or transmitted (except the Sysplex values described in 6.4).

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise them, contact the email address above.

8. Right to complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

9. Changes

I update this policy when new apps or features are added. The version published here applies.
